History

Nōgakubumae Station opened on 30 April 1912 as Tanakamichi Station (田中道駅) on the Kotohira Electric Railway in what is now Miki, Kagawa Prefecture. It became a station on the Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad's Kotohira Line on 1 November 1943 after the merger that formed the present operator. The station was renamed Nōgakudai Station (農大前駅) on 10 April 1950 — a reference to the nearby Faculty of Agriculture of Kagawa University — and received its current name on 1 February 1958. Today it is an unstaffed Kotoden Nagao Line stop carrying the station designation N11.
