History
Nishi-Kyōgoku Station opened on 1 November 1928 on the Hankyu Railway Kyoto Line, in Ukyō Ward of Kyoto. It has two side platforms each serving a single track. Hankyu rolled out network-wide station numbering on 21 December 2013, at which point this station was assigned number HK-82. The Nishikyōgoku Athletic Stadium and a cluster of associated sports facilities lie close to the station and are the principal reason for the seasonal patronage spikes the line sees here.
