History
Narahara Station is on the Kishin Line, 66.4 km from Himeji, in the city of Mimasaka, Okayama Prefecture, and is operated by JR West. It opened on 1 October 1954 as a new stop between Mimasaka-Emi and Hayashino on the JNR Kishin Line. Operations passed to JR West with the 1987 JNR privatization. The simple-commission staffing arrangement ended on 1 April 2011, leaving the station fully unstaffed. The station has a single side platform with no station building.
