History

Misono Station opened on 14 October 1994 with the Sapporo Municipal Subway Tōhō Line extension from Hōsui-Susukino to Fukuzumi. A single island platform sits beneath the Hōen-dōri at its intersection with Hokkaidō Prefectural Road 89 (Kanjō-dōri). Exits 1 and 2 face the Hōen-dōri, while exit 3 fronts the Kanjō-dōri and carries the only lift connecting to the surface. Platform-edge doors were activated on 5 October 2016. Sapporo's municipal Medium and Small Rivers Hazard Map of 2011 lists Misono among the stations at risk of inundation from a rupture of the nearby Mochizuki-Sappori River, with pre-flood evacuation recommended.

Notes

Misono is one of the few Sapporo Municipal Subway stations officially identified in the city's 2011 flood hazard map as at risk of inundation from a small-river overflow.
