Location
History
Koen Nishi Station stands in Nagakute, Aichi Prefecture, on Aichi Rapid Transit's Tōbu Kyūryō Line, the Linimo maglev. It opened on 6 March 2005. It is numbered L06 and lies 6.0 km from the line's starting point at Fujigaoka. During Expo 2005 it was close to the Nagakute venue's west gate. The elevated station has one island platform serving two tracks, a station building beneath, and movable platform doors. Manaca IC cards were accepted from 12 March 2016, and an east entrance and a second elevator opened on 29 March 2017. Many Nagoya University of Commerce & Business students use it. A pedestrian and bicycle gate opened about 150 m east in 2015-08, improving access to Ai・Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen (Moricoro Park), the former Expo grounds.
Notes
Owing to crowding at the neighbouring Expo venue station during Expo 2005, some visitors walked from the grounds to Koen Nishi Station and boarded there.
