History

Keirinjo-mae Station opened on 18 April 1959 as a temporary stop of the Kanazawa Railway Management Bureau, planned after a questionnaire survey devised by the Toyama locomotive depot's head to raise Toyamako Line revenue. JR West inherited it from Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. Until 2006 it served passengers only on Toyama Keirin race days. Waiting-room rebuilding finished on 19 June 1993. The JR West station closed on 1 March 2006 as the line passed to Toyama Light Rail, which reopened it as a permanent station on 29 April 2006. Toyama Light Rail merged into Toyama Chihou Railway on 22 February 2020. The station, numbered C38, is on its Toyamako Line in Toyama, Toyama Prefecture.

Notes

Its last days of service as a JR West station were 9 to 11 December 2005, the three days of a Toyama Keirin race meeting.
