• Kisei Line: Tochihara ⇄ Misedani

Kawazoe Station opened on 25 September 1923 as the terminus of the Japanese Government Railways' Kisei-East Line, extended from Tochihara. The line pushed on to Misedani on 15 August 1925, leaving Kawazoe an intermediate stop, and the route was re-designated the Kisei Main Line on 15 July 1959. Freight handling ceased on 1 February 1962, and the station has been unstaffed since 21 December 1983. Privatisation on 1 April 1987 placed the station under JR Central. The original wooden station building was demolished in February 2000 and replaced by a simple waiting shelter. Today the stop has two opposed side platforms with a footbridge between them.
