• Trunk Line: Keitokuko-mae ⇄ Gofukumachi (Kumamoto)

Kawaramachi is a stop on the Kumamoto City Tram's Trunk Line, served by Route A. It is stop number 6 and lies in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto. The stop opened on 1 August 1924 as part of the city-run tram system. On 8 September 1927 the Kumamoto Electric Tramway opened a section extending from Kawaramachi, completing a line that had this stop at one end. The city bought the company's routes on 1 December 1945, and the line became a city tram line. From 1 April 1959 the line's services ran through to Karashimacho, so its trains passed Kawaramachi without stopping. The line was abolished on 21 February 1965. In September 2019 barrier-free work raised and extended the platforms for wheelchair access.

The stop takes its name from the surrounding district, and that name was given because the area lay close to the bed of a nearby river.
