History
Eba Station is the terminal stop of the Hiroshima Electric Railway's Eba Line, in Eba-nishi 1-chome, Naka-ku, Hiroshima. Its station number is E06. A stop has stood at this site since January 1954, and it was once called Eba-guchi. Two side platforms face each other across two tracks and are set into the pavement, with one used only for alighting. Work completed on 25 March 2014 raised both platforms by 15 cm and gave the alighting platform a safety zone. Routes 6, 8 and 9 serve the stop, and route 9 was extended to reach it on 15 February 2013. Beyond the platforms the tracks run straight into the Eba depot, which the trams share with Hiroden Bus.
Notes
The shipyard that the Eba Line was originally meant to reach survives as the Eba plant of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' Hiroshima Machinery Works, about 1 km south of the stop, but an extension planned since the line opened has never been built, so getting there takes a bus.
