History
The provisional station name was announced in October 2000 and construction began in 2007. The final station name was confirmed on 24 December 2013, and Yakushido Station opened on 6 December 2015 with the rest of the Sendai Subway Tōzai Line, station number T10. A Seven Bank ATM was installed on 28 September 2019. The auxiliary station name "Seiwa Gakuen Mae" remained in use through 31 March 2025.
Notes
Yakushido Station sits under the planned road Kitsunekoji-Amadera Line and has a bus pool alongside its station-front plaza, making it the bus interchange for districts in the southeast of Sendai. Initial daily boarding was projected at 5,017; the FY2023 figure of 5,717 boardings per day exceeds that forecast.
