History
Uzumasa Station is on the Sagano Line (San'in Main Line) in Ukyō-ku, Kyoto, operated by JR West. It opened on 11 March 1989 between Hanazono and Saga (now Saga-Arashiyama) as part of works to expand capacity on the line, and station number JR-E07 was assigned in March 2018. The station has two side platforms; track 1 serves Kyoto-bound trains and track 2 serves Kameoka- and Sonobe-bound trains. Track configuration shifted to the present layout when the section between Hanazono and Saga-Arashiyama was double-tracked on 7 March 2010.
Notes
Famous Japanese stunt actor Seizō Fukumoto, "killed" in more films than anyone, attended the 2015 ceremony marking the station's barrier-free upgrade because the nearby Toei Kyoto Studio Park made him a fitting honoree.
