• San'in Main Line: Hozukyo ⇄ Kameoka

Umahori Station opened on July 20, 1935 on the San'in Main Line, between what was then the Matsuoyama Signal Box (today's Torokko Hozukyō Station) and Kameoka. Originally it served only travel within Kyoto-Fukuchiyama and to Osaka. The station building was partially burned in April 1975 after a passenger discarded a cigarette, and rebuilt in reinforced concrete in April 1976. With the privatization of JNR on April 1, 1987 the station passed to JR West. On March 5, 1989 the line between Saga (now Saga-Arashiyama) and Umahori was relocated to a new double-track alignment; the old line is now used by the Sagano Scenic Railway. ICOCA service began on November 1, 2003.
