History
Tsukioka Station opened on 25 April 1921 as a station of the Toyama Prefectural Railway. It passed to Toyama Chihō Railway on 1 January 1943, freight handling ended on 11 May 1968, the station became unstaffed on 25 December 1977, and CTC operation was introduced on 1 November 1984.
Notes
Tsukioka retains its original wooden station building and once hosted turnback workings on the Kamidaki Line, with right-hand running used between the two tracks for passing trains. The Tsukioka district is populous but the station sits about 2 km from the centre of it, which keeps regular use light. The station also appears in the climactic scene of the 2010 film 'Railways: Aiwo Tsutaerarenai Otonatachi e', set on the Toyama Chihō Railway.
