History

Tottorinoshō Station opened on 1 March 1919 as an infill stop on the Nankai Railway between Ozaki and Hakotsukuri, on the Nankai Main Line. It became part of Kinki Nippon Railway in the wartime merger of 1 June 1944 and returned to Nankai Electric Railway with the post-war separation on 1 June 1947. Station numbering NK38 was assigned on 1 April 2012, and a second south-side ticket gate was opened on 27 March 2016, easing access for residents on the sea side of the tracks.
