Tokiwa Station (Okayama) opened on 7 September 1992, on the same day the Mizushima Rinkai Railway's Mizushima Main Line was elevated between Urada and Mitsubishi-Jiko-mae.

An unstaffed single-platform elevated stop with direct staircase access from the platform, Tokiwa is flanked by housing and shops; a small commercial strip with bars and snack-bar establishments runs along the west side, with the east side almost entirely residential.
