History

Tanagata Station is located in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, on the Nishi-Kyūshū Line. The line, originally part of the Japanese National Railways Matsuura Line, was transferred to the third-sector Matsuura Railway in 1988, and Tanagata has been operated by that company since. It consists of a single ground-level side platform serving a bi-directional track, and is 78.3 km from the line's starting point at Arita.
