History
Shōtenzaka Station (HN57) is a Hankai Tramway Hankai Line tram stop in Nishinari-ku, Osaka. It opened on 1 December 1911 with the original Hankai Electric Tramway's Ebisu-chō – Ichinochō (present-day Daishōji) section. The line passed to Nankai Railway in 1915, to Kinki Nippon Railway in the June 1944 wartime merger, back to Nankai Electric Railway in June 1947, and to the present second-generation Hankai Tramway in December 1980. The stop's name preserves the historical name for the 聖天 (Shōten) slope that runs nearby.
