History

Shin-Nōmachi Station is a Manyosen Takaoka Kidō Line tram stop in Ogino, Takaoka, Toyama, with JR West's Nōmachi Station on the Himi Line about 450 m east — close enough to be walked between. It opened on 10 April 1948 as a Toyama Chihō Railway intermediate stop on the Jitetsu-Takaoka (today Takaoka) to Fushiki-kō section, passed to Kaetsunō Railway on 1 April 1959, and to Manyosen on 1 April 2002. Shelters and ramps were added in December 2010 for accessibility. The platforms are staggered chidori-style across an intersection — the Takaoka-bound stop south of the junction, the Koshinokata-bound stop north of it.
