Shima-Isobe Station is a stop on the Kintetsu Shima Line in Shima, Mie Prefecture, opened in 1929 and operated today by Kintetsu Railway. The Shima Line was originally constructed by the Shima Electric Railway to link the inland town of Toba with the coastal pearling districts of Shima Peninsula; the line passed through a series of mergers before joining the Kintetsu network. Shima-Isobe sits roughly mid-line and primarily serves residents of the former Isobe town within the modern city of Shima. It is a staffed station managed from Toba Station; the surrounding area was once the gateway to Shima Spain Village.
