Sato Station serves the city of Imari in Saga Prefecture and stands 17.5 km from Arita on the Matsuura Railway's Nishi-Kyūshū Line. The line has been operated by the third-sector Matsuura Railway since 1988. Trains from this branch terminate at either Imari or Saza, where passengers can transfer for services to Arita or Sasebo. The station is a simple ground-level halt with a single side platform.
