Location
History
Ōsaki Station opened on 25 February 1901 as a station of the Nippon Railway in Shinagawa, Tokyo. The line was nationalised on 1 November 1906 and the station became part of the Yamanote Line in October 1909. After serving the Yamanote Line alone for many decades, on 1 December 2002 new platforms opened on the west side to host Saikyō Line, Shōnan-Shinjuku Line and Rinkai Line services. Through-running with the Sōtetsu Line began on 30 November 2019. Platform-edge doors entered service on the Yamanote main platforms on 22 December 2012.
Notes
Unlike most stations served by multiple operators, Ōsaki places JR East and Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit services behind a single set of fare gates, so passengers can transfer between the two without exiting and re-entering.
