History

The stop opened on 9 January 1933 as Horikawa-Ōmachi Stop on the Toyama Municipal Tramway. Following the 1 January 1943 transfer of the tramway to the Toyama Chihō Railroad, the company designation changed. Service was suspended from 2 August 1945 due to the Toyama air-raid and resumed on 14 January 1946 when the Minami-Toyama-mae — Toyama-eki-mae section returned to operation. The stop was renamed Minamikoizumi before 1952 and Ōmachi before 1962.

Notes
