• San'in Main Line: Kute ⇄ Shizuma

Ōdashi Station opened on 11 July 1915 as Iwami-Ōda Station, the temporary western terminus of the San'in Main Line as it was extended from Oda. The line was further extended to Nima in May 1917, leaving the station as an intermediate stop. The present third-generation station building dates from December 1970, and the station was renamed Ōdashi on 1 February 1971. Freight handling ended in 1983 and parcels in 1986. The station passed to JR West at the 1987 privatisation and is now served by all "Super Oki" and "Super Matsukaze" limited expresses.

The opening day in 1915 recorded 716 boardings and alightings; in 2022 the daily average had fallen to 358, well below 1984's 1,093 even after the 2007 World Heritage designation of the nearby Iwami Ginzan silver mine.
