• San'in Main Line: Kōnan (Shimane) ⇄ Tagi

Oda Station opened on 21 November 1913 as the temporary terminus of an extension of the San'in Main Line from Izumo-Imaichi (now Izumoshi). The line continued west to Iwami-Ōda (now Ōdashi) on 10 March 1915, making Oda an intermediate stop. Freight handling ended on 7 November 1982 and parcel handling on 14 March 1985, with the station becoming unstaffed the following year. Operations passed from JNR to JR West on 1 April 1987. Around 2001, the San'in Main Line speed-up works removed one of the original island-platform tracks, leaving today's single-platform stop. A new station building incorporating a community-bus terminal opened on 10 February 2005.

Local accounts say the station was originally to be named Taki after its township, but to avoid confusion with neighbouring Tagi the name of an adjoining hamlet — Oda — was used instead.
