History

Nonokuchi Station opened on 21 December 1898 alongside the line that became the Tsuyama Line, in what is now the Takebe-chō neighbourhood of Kita-ku, Okayama. With the privatisation of the Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 the station passed to JR West, and the station building was rebuilt in February 2020. The station consists of two ground-level opposed side platforms connected by a level crossing and is unattended. It is located 16.7 kilometres from the southern terminus of the line at Okayama.

Notes

The current station building dates from February 2020, a replacement constructed more than 120 years after the original 1898 opening.
