History
Nagata Station opened on 5 April 1985 as the eastern terminus of the Osaka Municipal Subway Chuo Line. Kintetsu Railway services began on 1 October 1986 when the Higashi-Osaka Line (now the Keihanna Line) opened with this station as its western starting point; the two lines run through-service from this point, so most trains pass through rather than terminate. The station is the easternmost on the Osaka Metro network. It became part of Osaka Metro on 1 April 2018 when the Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau was privatised, and platform-edge doors entered service on 13 September 2024.
