History
Miyakojima Station opened on 29 May 1974 as the northern terminus of the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line's extension from Higashi-Umeda. It lost its terminus status on 6 April 1977 when the line was pushed further north to Moriguchi, becoming an intermediate station. The station passed to Osaka Metro at the Transportation Bureau's privatisation on 1 April 2018, and platform-edge doors entered service on 26 July 2025. It is laid out as a single island platform serving two tracks on the B2 level, with about half of all Tanimachi Line trains terminating here and reversing for Fuminosato, Kire-Uriwari or Yaominami.
