History

Miyagino-dori Station opened on 6 December 2015 with the rest of the Sendai Subway Tōzai Line, lying beneath the Higashi-Hachibanchō boulevard in Tsutsujigaoka, Miyagino Ward. It carries the station number T08. The island platform sits on the fourth basement level, around 31 metres below the surface; ticket gates occupy the first basement. Although the station is close to JR Sendai Station's Senseki Line platforms, there is no underground passage between the two and passengers transferring must surface at North Exit 1 first. The station's opening was the first time Sendai's subway network reached Miyagino Ward, which had been the only ward not served by the original Namboku Line. The station is staffed by contracted Alsok personnel.
