Location
History
Maruyama-Kōen Station is a Sapporo Municipal Subway station on the Tōzai Line in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, identified by the line code T06. It opened on 10 June 1976 when the Tōzai Line was inaugurated between Kotoni and Shiroishi. The station takes its name from Maruyama Park, situated roughly 300 metres west of the entrance, and serves the western edge of the Sapporo city centre alongside nearby attractions including the Maruyama Zoo and Hokkaidō Shrine. Platform screen doors began operating on 27 January 2009, and a new sixth exit was opened on 18 March 2009 with the launch of the adjoining Maruyama Class shopping complex.
Notes
The station takes its name from Maruyama Park, located about 300 metres west of the station entrance.
