Kunimi Station opened on 1 October 1997 as an intermediate station on the Tosa Kuroshio Railway Sukumo Line, in Kunimi, Shimanto, Kōchi Prefecture — station number TK42.

Kunimi is a small unstaffed station built on an embankment with a single side platform; access is up a flight of steps from the forecourt, and a sheltered waiting area is provided on the platform. National Route 56 and the Nakasuji River pass close by, with Higashi-Nakasuji elementary and junior high schools and Higashi-Nakasuji Post Office nearby.
