Komuro Station opened on 8 March 1979 in the city of Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, on the Hokusō Line, operated by the third-sector Hokusō Railway. The station sits 19.8 km from the line's terminus at Keisei-Takasago and serves the Chiba New Town development. The layout consists of one ground-level island platform and one side platform serving three tracks, with the station building constructed above. Station numbering was introduced on 17 July 2010, with Komuro designated HS11.

The station sits at a junction of National Routes 16 and 464, serving as a road-rail interchange for the Chiba New Town area.
