History
Komachi Station opened on 28 October 1888 under another name and was renamed on 20 July 1889. The Takahama Line, which serves it, opened in 1888 as Shikoku’s first railway, and Komachi is one of the island’s first stations. It moved to its present site in 1903. The first station building burned down in the Matsuyama air raid on 26 July 1945, and a third was completed on 18 July 1977. Accessibility work finished on 22 March 2005, closing the underpass to the Takahama Line platform, in use since 1 May 1931. The station is in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, and run by Iyo Railway. Station numbers are IY08 on the Takahama Line and 07 on the Johoku and Otemachi lines.
Notes
Inside the station grounds, the tram lines and the railway lines cross one another diagonally at the same level.
