History
Kitaura stop opened on 4 December 1910 when Tosa Electric Railway extended the Gomen Line between Kanoko Stop and Ōtsu Stop (later abolished — see Ryōseki-dōri). On 1 October 2014, with the corporate merger forming Tosaden Kōtsū, it became one of that operator's stops.
Notes
The two platforms here are arranged diagonally opposite one another — the Harimaya-bashi-bound platform to the east is a true safety zone, but the Gomen-machi-bound 'platform' to the west is just a white-lined boarding area on the road that runs along the tracks. The track follows the Funairi-gawa just to the north, but a flood levee blocks any view of the river from the trams.
