Kishinosato-Tamade Station opened on 18 April 1993 when Nankai Electric Railway's Main Line was elevated through Nishinari-ku and the two adjacent stations Kishinosato (opened 1913) and Tamade (opened 1907) — separated by only about 0.4 kilometres — were consolidated into a single facility. The Koya Line's elevated platforms followed in October 1994, the Shiomibashi Line platform in August 1995, and the full elevation works were completed on 1 November 1995. The Koya Line platforms were renovated on 10 December 1996 to close out the project. Station numbering NK06 was introduced on 1 April 2012. Through services and limited-stop trains pass through, making the station useful chiefly as a Koya Line junction.

Until 1970, the Koya Line's Namba-bound trains could not stop at the predecessor Kishinosato Station because it lacked a dedicated platform — passengers transferring from the Shiomibashi branch had to ride all the way to Sumiyoshi-Higashi.
