Location

History

Kinno Station opened on 30 October 1932 as a halt when the Sanshin Railway opened the stretch of line it stands on. That line was nationalised into the Iida Line on 1 August 1943, when the halt became a station, and the break-up and privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 passed it to JR Central. It is in Chihae, Iida, Nagano Prefecture, 113.6 km from Toyohashi. It has a single ground-level side platform serving one track, no staff, and a small waiting shelter instead of a station building. The station is isolated, and no houses stand nearby. In fiscal 2021 it recorded just 308 boardings. It is the least used of the Iida Line's 94 stations.

Notes

Villagers of the time campaigned for a station here, and it was built even though none had originally been planned.
