Kibōgaoka Station opened on 26 March 1948 on the Sagami Railway (Sotetsu) Main Line, in Asahi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. The station lies 12.2 km from the line’s starting point at Yokohama Station and has two opposed side platforms serving two tracks, with the station building elevated above the platforms. Through service over the Sōtetsu Shin-Yokohama Line and the Sōtetsu–JR Link Line began on 30 November 2019. Through service via the Sōtetsu Shin-Yokohama Line and the Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line followed on 18 March 2023.
