Keisei Narita Station opened on 25 April 1930 as Narita Station, the eastern terminus of the Keisei Main Line in the city of Narita, Chiba Prefecture. It was renamed Keisei Narita on 18 November 1931 to distinguish it from the nearby JR Narita Station, which is within walking distance. The station is also served by the short Keisei Higashi-Narita Line and lies 61.2 kilometres from Keisei Ueno. The current elevated station building hosts two island platforms and one side platform, connected by underpasses. Station numbering across the Keisei network was introduced on 17 July 2010, with Keisei Narita assigned KS40.

The station was named simply Narita for its first eighteen months — the "Keisei" prefix was added only after the operator agreed to differentiate it from the older Japanese Government Railways Narita Station a few minutes' walk away.
