Location

History

Keisei Makuhari Station opened on 17 July 1921 as Makuhari Station and took its present name on 18 November 1931. A level crossing at the Keisei Makuhari-Hongo end of the station, famous as a "never-opening crossing", was closed on 27 July 2004, and an underground passage came into use the next day. Barrier-free work was carried out in 2018. The station is in Hanamigawa Ward of the city of Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, on the Chiba Line of Keisei Electric Railway. Its station number is KS53. It is a ground-level station with one island platform serving two tracks, and a level crossing within the station connects the platform to the station building.

Notes

The platforms of JR East's Makuhari Station lie very close to this station's, but the station buildings are somewhat apart, with a detour of about 300 m to that station's south exit, and the two offer neither through ticketing nor transfer guidance.
