Keio-Inadazutsumi Station opened on 1 April 1971 as one of Keio Corporation's first stations in Kanagawa Prefecture, on the newly built Sagamihara Line. From the start it was a rapid-service stop, and was added to the express stopping pattern when expresses began running on 27 March 2001. With the 22 February 2013 timetable revision the second-generation Sagamihara Line limited express started calling here, joined by semi-express services in September 2015. The elevated station has two side platforms on a curve, with north and south concourses and step-free access since a 2006 north-entrance refurbishment. JR's Inadazutsumi Station on the Nambu Line lies a short walk to the east.

When Keio opened this stop in 1971 it became the company's first station in Kanagawa Prefecture, and it remains the northernmost rail station within both Kanagawa and Kawasaki city.
