Location

History

The station opened on 21 October 1930 as a new stop on the Shigi-Ikoma Electric Railway's Hirakata Line. It passed to the Katano Electric Railway on 1 May 1939 and by merger to the Keihanshin Express Railway on 1 May 1945. Use was suspended on 15 September 1945 to avoid transport disruption and resumed on 1 May 1948; the Keihan Electric Railway took over on 1 December 1949. Double-tracking on 12 September 1992 involved works that relocated the platform, moved the ticket gates underground and added a second platform. Three elevators and an accessible toilet opened on 23 March 2010. It is in Katano, Osaka Prefecture, 6.1 km from the Katano Line's terminus at Hirakatashi. Its station number is KH66.

Notes

Keihanshin-Iwafune Station, which stood between Katano Station (now Katanoshi) and this one, was abolished on 1 May 1948, the day service here resumed.
