History

Kashima Station opened on 8 March 1997, coinciding with the inauguration of West Japan Railway Company's JR Tōzai Line between Kyōbashi and Amagasaki. The station is in Yodogawa-ku, Osaka, and has a single underground island platform serving two tracks on the second basement level, located directly beneath the Tōkaidō Main Line (JR Kobe Line) right-of-way between Tsukamoto and Amagasaki. Station numbering JR-H48 was introduced in March 2018.
