History
Karasue Station opened on 1 January 1915 as a station of the original Yoro Railway. Mergers and spin-offs then passed it through several owners, including Ibiden's predecessor from 13 June 1922, before it became a Kintetsu station on 1 June 1944. On 4 October 1997 it was elevated in connection with river improvement works on the Makita and Kuise rivers, moving about 10 metres north and becoming unstaffed at the same time. On 1 October 2007 Kintetsu spun off the Yoro Line, and the station passed to the present-day Yoro Railway. It stands in the town of Yoro, Gifu Prefecture, and is numbered Y06. It is the line's only elevated station, with one side platform and one track.
Notes
The Makita River bridge near the station once used an 1888 truss that Kintetsu acquired after it had served the national railway; once the 1997 elevation ended its use, a piece was cut out and put on display in front of the station.
