History
Jimmuji Station opened on 1 April 1931 as a temporary stop on the Keihin Electric Railway (京浜電気鉄道), the predecessor of today's Keikyu, located about 300 metres closer to Kanazawa-hakkei than its present site. It was promoted to a full station on 11 June 1936 and relocated to its current address on 1 September 1944. The line passed through Tokyu Corporation in 1942 before Keikyu was spun out in 1948. A new station building opened in March 2007, and on 1 October 2008 a dedicated entrance for US Navy personnel was added, linking the station directly to the adjoining Ikego housing area.
Notes
Narrow-gauge sidings branch off north of the platform to carry brand-new Keikyu and Keisei rolling stock between J-TREC's Yokohama plant and JR East's tracks at Zushi Station.
