• JR Hakubi Line: Kishimoto ⇄ Ebi

Hōki-Mizoguchi Station opened on 10 August 1919 as the southern terminus of the Railway Bureau's Hakubi North Line. On 25 March 1922 the line was extended south to Ebi Station, making Hōki-Mizoguchi a through station. In 1928 the Hakubi North Line was absorbed into the unified Hakubi Line. Freight services ended on 1 December 1970, the station became contracted out in February 1971, and in March 1985 baggage handling ended and the station was downgraded to a simple contracted facility. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, the station came under JR West, and was fully unstaffed from 1 April 2015. The express "Hōki" used to call here.

Although the station name is read "Mizoguchi", the surrounding town's name was officially changed from "Mizoguchi" to "Mizokuchi" in May 1984 while the station kept its original reading.
