History

Hirabayashi Station opened on 16 March 1981, together with the section of the Nanko Port Town Line (New Tram) between Suminoekoen and Nakafuto, which the Osaka city transportation bureau then ran. The bureau's privatisation on 1 April 2018 made the station part of Osaka Metro. It is numbered P17 and lies in Suminoe-ku, Osaka. The station is elevated, with one island platform serving two tracks and full-height platform doors; the ticket gate and concourse are on the second floor, the platform on the third. The sole ticket gate is at the Suminoekoen end, stairs off the roadway lead to the ground, and an elevator stands on the south side. Operationally, it is managed from Suminoekoen Station.
