• Yokosuka Line: Zushi ⇄ Taura

Higashi-Zushi Station opened on 1 April 1952 on the Japan National Railways Yokosuka Line between Zushi and Taura. The stop was a citizen-requested addition: local landowners donated the site and residents helped fund construction after the Numa and Sakurayama youth associations launched a committee for it in 1947. A footbridge was added in 1969, parcel handling was abolished in 1980, and operation passed to JR East at the 1987 privatisation of JNR. Suica IC fares began on 18 November 2001, and on 17 November 2025 the automatic faregates were replaced with simple Suica readers, completing the station's transition to remote staffing.
