Higashi-Sapporo Station opened on 10 June 1976 on the Sapporo Municipal Subway's Tōzai Line, in the same opening as the line's initial section between Kotoni and Shiroishi. The station — whose name means "East Sapporo" — is in Shiroishi-ku, Sapporo, and carries the station number T12. The Sapporo Convention Center stands nearby.
