• Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line: Nishitetsu Ogori ⇄ Ajisaka

Hatama opened on 12 April 1924 in Fukudō, Ogōri City, on what is now Nishitetsu's Tenjin Ōmuta Line. The depot was rebuilt twice — in 1969 and again in 1999 — with automatic ticket gates added during the 1999 reconstruction. Station numbering took effect on 1 February 2017, with Hatama receiving code T23. The station consists of two gently curved side platforms long enough to accommodate eight-car formations. The 3.0-km gap between Hatama and the next station to the south, Ajisaka, is the longest inter-station distance anywhere on the Nishitetsu network. Near the station stands the Ogōri City General Health and Welfare Centre 'Asuterasu', which incorporates the 'Manten no Yu' hot-spring bath.

The 3.0-km stretch from Hatama south to Ajisaka is the longest inter-station distance on the entire Nishitetsu network.
