History

Hanazono opened on 1 August 1954 when a signal box on the Kotoden Nagao Line was upgraded to a full station. It was once staffed but, as part of cost-cutting following the company's deterioration, was destaffed.

Notes

The gap between Hanazono and the next stop towards Nagao, Rindō Station, is 1.8 km, the longest interval on the entire Kotoden Nagao Line — roughly twice the line's average inter-station spacing of about 0.97 km.
