History

Gakuen-Mae Station, station H10 on the Sapporo Municipal Subway Tōhō Line, opened on 1994-10-14 with the extension of the Tōhō Line from Hōsui-Susukino to Fukuzumi. Before construction began the planning name had been 'Toyohira Station'. The station sits beneath National Route 453 with a single island platform; one of its four exits links directly into the Hokkai Gakuen Group campus, which includes Hokkai Gakuen University, Hokkaikō Commercial University, and Hokkai high schools. A fourth exit connecting to Hokkaikō Commercial University's new building was added in 2006. Platform-edge screen doors entered service on 2016-11-03.
